kinit: cannot open root device

Hi,
   I have build kernel 2.6.18.1 by arch way
by PKGBUILD

build OK

then I run

mkinitcpio   (I remove piix module for problem I read)


when I boot new kernel I have

kinit: cannot open root device dev(0,0)
kinit: init not found



can you help me ?

Are you running on a Mac?  What are your specs?

cpu sempron 2400

ram 512 mb

hd 40gb



p.s.
with arch kernel works OK

Then why build your own? Without telling us _exactly_ what changes you made to the original PKGBUILD, how you ran mkinitcpio and how your mkinitcpio.conf and menu.lst look like, nobody would have any clue.

- any chages to PKGBUILD

- only load my config

- I not run mkinitcpio, after build kernel, I run only: pacman -U kernel-my-.pkg.tar.gz (this runs mkinitcpio)


- I have try original and oher custom mkinitcpio.conf, same error

- with original kenel it works OK
