I have solved almost all the problems with the FreeFEM++ PKGBUILD. Thanks also to Frédéric Hecht, one of the autors of the program, now I have a working PKGBUILD for FreeFEM++:

you will notice this will download and build umfpack and arpack, arpack++. This will _not_ cause this PKGBUILD to be in conflict with arpack and umfpack since this libraries will be statically linked with FreeFEM and _not_ installed. I had to do it this way since the default version of arpack and umfpack in Arch Linux seems to be incompatible with FreeFEM++.
