Mouse speed super slow for vertical movements on wide desktop (GNOME)

In the last day or two I noticed my mouse (Logitech M570 trackball) occasionally feeling really weird. I just identified the issue being the vertical portion of the mouse movements being very slow. It seems like maybe the mouse movement speed was changed to be proportional to my screen size (I have a 21:9 monitor with an additional portrait 16:9 monitor next to it, so a fairly wide setup). If I only move my mouse left and right it feel just right. Moving it up and down I struggle to quickly get to the top/bottom of the screen.

I'm guessing something changed in Gnome or something so I'll search some other forums, but figured I'd start a thread here too in case this is Arch specific.

Well now I feel silly. There was a large clump of dust stuck to my optical sensor, I guess just blocking the bottom half and thus reducing sensitivity in the vertical axis. Much better after a good cleaning.
