Error attaching PDF on Gmail

Hello, i'm' not sure if i'm posting this on the right session.

When i try to attach some files (normally, PDFs), Gmail returns "The file is 0 bytes, so it will not be attached".

I've already tried on firefox, chroimum and google chrome, it didn't work in any of them.

And it only happens on my archlinux, i've got no ideia what to do.

Could someone help me?

Are the pdf files known to be good? What kind of file system are they on? Are they symlinks?

Well, yes. I tried books, scientific papers, and even anything almost empty that i just created.

Some of them work fine, but the most part doesn't attatch.

I'm sorry, what would be the file system? Like Dolphin? If yes, than it's Dolphin.

They're not symlinks.

Do you use any sandboxing software, like firejail? I had something like that problem long time ago when I was trying to upload files to some forum (not this one) and they become empty after uploading, but I don't remember details. I didn't remember how I resolved it (maybe better learning of firejail?).

No, i don't use anything like that.

I recently realised that it only happens with files smaller than 200kb, or smtgh like that.

I mean, not excatly 200kb, but i can't attatch small files at all, the system returns it weights 0bytes, even tough it doesn't, it's just few Kb.

I'm sorry, the filesystem is ext4.

No, they're not. Sometimes, i just take a picture of a document with my mobile, export the photos into a PDF and send to my e-mail.

Than, i download it on my Arch and, if i try to attatch it, the system returns that error (not allways, but many times).

It's not only gmail, actually, i realised it happens whenever i want to upload the bugged file, it doesn't matter the plataform (Discord, Skype, among others).

It's the minority of PDFs, though. The most part works fine.

Howeever, i can't see any pattern...

For example, yesterday i needed to merge 2 PDFs that were uploading fine.

The moment i merged them using a website and downloaded again, they bugged. I couldn't send the merged PDF by e-mail or any upload system.

What if after you download the, you run an explicit "sudo sync" before trying to upload them?

It actually worked! I'm a new user, could you explain me why it worked? i don't know what it does and why it solved the problem.

I typed sudo sync on terminal and i was able to upload the file after it.

Is there a way to make it permanent?

Do you use a userspace tool to delay writes or do you keep the browser cache/profile in some tmpfs?
More specifically, what is "Than, i download it on my Arch" in particular? (browser, mail client, wget…) and do you have similar issues uploading (eg. to yor google drive) files you didn't download this way (eg. /etc/profile - and I assume the answer is "no")?

I don't use any of that. Well, not that i know of. When i said that i downloaded the files, i was refering to browser, it doesn't metter if chrome or firefox, it happens on both.

Could you give an example of a userspace tool that would cause this problem?

I'ver never tried to create a PDF on my local machine, i allways download it from google docs or smthg like that, so i guess i don't have issues uploading files i didn't download.

What about curl?

Curl Worked too.

If i rename, it still doesn't upload.

Browsers often download with a temporary filename and then rename it after the download is complete. Does that work with wget as well?
