[Solved] KVM problem usb cdc_acm 1-5:1.0 failed to set dtr/rts

I have a problem with said usb zigbee dongle. I have a server with arch linux wich runs another arch linux as KVM via libvirt. The dongle is plugged into the server passed through to the second server. There is home assistant (hassio) running in a docker environment. And since I updated both servers last week the dongle is not working properly in home assistant. I am quite sure it is unrelated to docker, home assistant or the add on actually using it, because it is working in an VM with virtual box on my desktop. After trying a hundred different things I even went so far as to completely delete the second server, but nothing helped.

The usb dongle is available in the second server and the addon is recognizing it but it than times out when it is trying to start the application on the usb dongle. The query for the bootloader times out continuously.

On the first server libvirt is running as the user kvm wich is in the following groups:

78(kvm),0(root),994(disk),993(input),991(lp),988(storage),987(uucp)

And i can not find error messages anywhere (accept in home assistant) on the system.

I am at a loss, something must have changed with the last update, but I have no idea what. Hopefully someone of you can point me in the right direction.

Edit: I think i found something. I get the error following message every few secods:

cdc_acm 1-5:1.0 failed to set dtr/rts

Has anyone an idea what I have to do?

Edit: It turns out, it is a known bug in libusb which appeared in libvirt here: https://gitlab.com/libvirt/libvirt/-/is … _453201795 which has been discussed on gentoo here: https://bugs.gentoo.org/753305. Downgrading did indeed fix the issue.
