Sound cannot be inputted or recorded

Hi,

I am using an Asus Vivobook X510UF. I recently tried to attend a call on Zoom and I could not be heard by anyone on the call. I also tried using several recording applications to see if the problem was with my laptop or Zoom. Turns out apps like gnome-sound-recorder cannot pick up on anything I say. What can I do to fix this? I am using the official kernel by the way. Here is a list of the Pulseaudio and Alsa packages I have installed:

What's your general situation during a recording attempt?

Thank you for your reply. When I tried recording with the gnome recorder, there was no sound in the recording. Apps like Zoom seem to be able to detect that I have a built-in microphone but my voice is not heard by anyone. I will post the outputs for the commands you listed. The second one does not work. Do i need to install something?
