Hi all,
I have a thinkpad T15 with Arch. I use I3/picom as a window manager on a X server. Driver is xf86-video-intel.
For the last month I have been having regular crashes, often during videocalls but not only. I usually have Spotify, Chromium and VScode open when it happens.
I can still hear people from the videocall, they can still see me and hear me, but my two screens (laptop and HDMI) are completely frozen.
It's been happening everyday now and is really annoying. I did not see anything weird in the log `sudo journalctl -b 1` or on the Xorg.log file.
Can someone point me to the right direction?
Edit1: I tried to ditch xf86-video-intel before, but it didnt work since I hadn't removed the /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf file (https://web.archive.org/web/20160714232 … ideointel/). I removed the file and I'll update this post if I keep freezing. I do get some screen tearing right now though.
Edit2: picom seems to have removed tearing with option `backend glx`
Edit3: no more screen freeze for now, seems to be fixed, I'm leaving this post on the forum for future reference.
