Hi All,
I have a Thecus N4200 NAS [1]. It runs a very old linux system from a 128MB Disk On Module (DOM). Using this guide [2] I was able to hook up a VGA monitor to it, and after removing the DOM, I was able to set a different boot device, and boot a USB stick with the Arch Linux installer. The installation went fine, this NAS is not much more than a standard PC with 4 hotswap sata bays.
I am not able to control the fans (they run at full speed), nor control the oled display (It continuously displays the startup animation).
Has anybody managed to control the fans, display and the buttons below the display?
Cheers,
Cedric

Looks like this guy has it working. It does not work for my N4200 though.

The hardware is capable of doing it, as the original firmware demonstrates.

I managed to have the fan working in Debian, was tricky due to kernel module not loading properly, but didn't need any i2c or gpio control, just used lm-sensors, fancontrol and pwmconfig.
If you're still interested write me and will describe the process.
Did you manage to use the OLED display?
