I have recently updated cups,cups-filters and libcups. From then onwards, my printer ( hp1020 ) stopped working.
I have installed foo2zjs-nightly ( aur package ) as printer driver. i deleted and tried to add printer via system-config-printer, but printer is not showing up in the list to add.
when i tried to list the usb devices using lsusb, printer is showing up in the list.
so, i decided to downgrade the cups packages. After downgrading packages, printer is now working again.
do any body have these problems with cups upgrade ?

From which cups version did you come?
Some weeks ago there was a change in upstream that renamed the service from org.cups.cupsd.service to cups.service. Might be that the service wasn't running in your case.
