Hello! I'm having an issue where my audio seemingly randomly stops working and I have to type `pulseaudio -k` in the terminal to fix it. My audio just stops playing entirely and I can't seem to find any solution or examples of other people having the same problem either. I have a Yamaha MG10XU Audio Mixer. The issue has been persistent on multiple arch installations. Any help is appreciated, thank you!

Here's all the command outputs while it was broken! Also, I can get it to come back if I open Pulse Audio Volume Control, but all audio is slowed down unless I do
pulseaudio -k- Thank you for your help!

Still having this issue on a new install of arch - I think the issue may be my yamaha MG10XU which I use for my audio, but if that's the case, then why does pavucontrol fix it while I leave it open? The audio usually only cuts out when I open an app, telegram specifically likes to turn off my sound when I don't have pavucontrol open.

I got myself the Yamaha MG10XU audio mixer too and did see the same trouble with sound stopping. Deep dig in the internet revealed the two following related posts 1 and 2
and the
pactl unload-module module-suspend-on-idle
seems pretty useful and fixing trouble with stopping the sound for me.
Not really sure what's the difference, but I had no such trouble with the Yamaha AG06 model.

I am still having this issue in 2025. I have tried
```pactl unload-module module-suspend-on-idle
Failed to unload module: Module module-suspend-on-idle not loaded```
with sudo, it returns
```Connection failure: Connection refused
pa_context_connect() failed: Connection refused```
I use gnome and pipewire. Opening the gnome sound settings makes the sound work (usually). Closing it stops sound from working.
I've had a little more success leaving pavucontrol open. However leaving these random gui applications always open complicates my desktop. I would like a more permanent solution if possible. This is a huge reason I haven't daily driven linux for many years.
I've tried a few sound fixes after researching online but none have worked.

This is insane. Like i have the same mixer, and last year (2024) i had a setup with Arch + Hyprland + PulseAudio, and somehow i had never problems.
I did today a new arch install and now i got the same problems as you described.
For me also the same is when i open sound settings it works, but also not for a long time.
The USB gets detected but i think its a problem with resuming the playback for this device. But idk.
