Hello,
I don't know why but most of the AUR packagers, put a download link to PKGBUILD's which I can't download them.. I don't know why it's happening but everytime I have to edit the PKGBUILD file manually and it's really annoying..
Generally the problematic URL starts with dl.... like:
http://dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/g … er.tar.bz2
So please give another URL like:
http://mesh.dl.sourceforge.net/sourcefo … 5.0.tar.gz
And again....thanks for your great work..!

Please search the forum, this has been discussed to death, and there is a solution.

I couldn't see a solution page in my search.. The only thing I saw was someone saying to patch makepkg.conf but I didn't see any lines related in my makepkg.conf.. So I didn't really understand what the solution is..

editing /etc/host seems to give people the most luck.

I've modified my /etc/hosts file like this:
#
# /etc/hosts: static lookup table for host names
#
#<ip> <hostname> <hostname>
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
127.0.0.1 penguix
193.1.193.6 dl.sourceforge.net
# End of file
---
But nothing changed... Should I restart my computer or any service ?

I believe you should change the IP next to dl.sf.net to 213.203.218.122, if you want to download from mesh mirror.

you have to add them. makepkg sources that file so it will know what that variable is. I would try the /etc/hosts solution first though.

Well, I do like the sources that begin wil dl more than the ones that point to a specific sourceforge mirror. This because I'm having a download limit on my university internet connection but the belnet mirror doesn't count for the traffic. So I've added belnet to my hosts lists, but this doesn't work if everybody starts putting fixed sourceforge mirrors into their pkgbuilds...

To make working with the patched version of makepkg easier, i have created an aur package for it.
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
