[SOLVED] PS4 Controller works for some games but not others

Hello everyone,

When I connect my ps4 controller to my pc via bluetooth, it always gets detected by steam.
The problem is that for some games, it doesn't work (the buttons don't do anything on the menu screen besides the touchpad that controls the mouse).

For example, it works flawlessly on Styx: Master of Shadows and Metro: Last Light but I can't seem to be able to play on Doom or Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes

I tried a few suggestions I saw online like connecting via USB, or waiting until the menu screen before connecting the controller but none of them worked.

Does anyone have any idea why something like this would happen or where I could look to narrow the problem down?

Turns out all I had to do was Right click on the game > Properties > General > Enable the steam overlay while in-game.
