[SOLVED] Liferea does not show a split window preview

I just installed Liferea feed reader and can't seem to find a way to enable a split preview window. See:

https://lzone.de/liferea/
https://github.com/lwindolf/liferea#introduction

I tried searching the options but couldn't find anything to “enable” such feature. When I click an item in the list, Liferea does not open a preview at the bottom (like it does on my other machine running Xubuntu), or at the right, like the screenshots on the Liferea project links I showed above.

Is this an Arch Linux specific thing? Perhaps the way it is compiled for Arch?

Re: [SOLVED] Liferea does not show a split window preview

The preview pane is active, but it is in a weird invisible position.

In "normal view" (see the view-menu) you can use your mouse to draw it up from the bottom. Put your mouse pointer above the slightly thicker line above the status bar, from there you can point and draw the preview pane up.
in "wide view" you can draw it in from the right window border to create the layout from your first two posted links.

The pane seems to forget its position after each restart. This is apparently a known issue for liferea:
