Auto switch from onboard speakers to headphones when plugged in

I recently (one week ago) installed Arch after like a year or so on Manjaro and I decided to rock dwm with it, unconcious of the fact that all the things i was used to have on gnome and kde wouldn't be present on my new install (my bad i guess). I was slowly able to setup everything i needed but one thing I'm not able to wrap my head around is the autoswapping of the output port from the main speakers of my laptop to the headphone jack when i plug it in. the headphone jack works fine and i can use it switching manually the port of the autput sink from the pulsemixer tui but is a bit tedious and not that handy.

PS: pls dont RTFM me, i spent the last 3 days reading the PulseAudio pages on the Arch wiki (the main one the examples and the troubleshooting) but with no avail

Look into the audio controls of your card with amixer and/or alsamixer (... make sure you don't look at fake volumes like e.g. pulseaudio-alsa would expose by default but the actual card with e.g. -c0 as arguments, check aplay -l for the index) and enable an Auto-Mute control if present.

Otherwise post some system information what card what state how do things look

aplay -l

"in general " pulseaudio would control this via module-switch-on-port-available that would be loaded by default normally

PS: The best way to avoid RTFM responses is to show that you R'd TFM by showing what you followed and which instructions you already tried to apply and what effect they had, right now you claim to have done so, but there's little to no indication on what results that had or in what state your system is in right now.

FWIW most of the audio changing stuff here happens in pulseaudio or the ALSA driver directly so KDE or gnome or whatever should have little to no effect here, has this worked on this exact system with these environments before or does it start to work by using one of them now?

There aren't any strange or fake volumes in alsa, only master headphone, speaker and PCM and there is also a mic boost in the inputs but i don't know if it should be also there other then the outputs, the module-switch-on-port-available should be loaded at startup (is present in the /etc/pulse/default.pa) and i also added module-switch-on-connect and the Auto-mute is enabled

PS: i know that all this staff is handled by alsa/pulseaudio and the various DEs don't have anything to do with these things with that i meant that I miss the fact that all these things are already setted up in other distros but i used the wrong words to say that, maybe replace kde/gnome with Manjaro or Ubuntu but i was also referring to all the services that these DEs offer that now i have to manually setup (but this is another story)
