[Solved] Linux kernel out of sync with nvidia driver

This morning, pacman updated my nvidia driver to 460.56-1, but the linux kernel is still showing as 5.11.1-arch1-1 from a couple of days ago. Xorg will not start.

The kernel is flagged as out of date in the pacman database, so I guess there's nothing to do but wait. I tried about six different repositories.

That looks as intended to me. The new nvidia package has simply been built against the "older" kernel. If this doesn't work, are you using early KMS with the nvidia drivers? If you do you need to ensure to regenerate your initramfs images with

mkinitcpio -P

and/or applying the hook in https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NVIDIA#Pacman_hook
