[Solved] Pulse Audio Preferences does not work after latest update

Hi All,

I have KDE desktop installed in my laptop.

I have installed Pulse Audio Preferences module from GTK2. This allowed me to chose headphone Jack output whenever I plugged in my headphones. This allowed the sound to be played in the headphones.

After latest update, paprefs has stopped working. When I run it from console, I get the following error :

Gtk-Message: 21:22:18.253: Failed to load module "appmenu-gtk-module"

(paprefs:2134): GLib-GIO-ERROR **: 21:22:18.260: Settings schema 'org.freedesktop.pulseaudio.module-group' is not installed
Trace/breakpoint trap (core dumped)

As such I am not able to switch to Headphone output for any videos being played.

Can you please help ? This is a real irritant ...

Thanks and Regards

Sachin

Update :

Installing other Pulse packages solved the issue.

You didn't say what are these packages...

Anyway, if you use Pipewire and you can't make paprefs work, here is a video to fix this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2sNVXZpC1E
