Firefox glyph font problem

I'm having problem with the Firefox not rendering glyphs with my choice of fonts. I'm currently using Open Sans font (ttf-opensans) for my web browser to use. It seems that no matter what font I use the glyphs don't show up correctly, unless I use specific fonts, FreeSans (gnu-free-fonts) or Cantarell (cantarell-fonts). I know for a fact that Open Sans or any other Sans would work just fine, because they do have all those glyphs. Is there a way to get around this problem?

No you don't.
There's a glyph substitution process and while I didn't chek the other fonts you mentioned, apparently something™ can resolve U+22C5

Please  post the output of the command I posted.
There's a chance that fontconfig resolves a pcf bitmap font and pango won't render those anymore.

And I get a GUI potting up with ⋅. Still not showing up correctly.

The last link in the chain is "Fixedsys Excelsior" and it doesn't provide that glyph either.
Install https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/any/ttf-dejavu/
