Are you using X or wayland ?

Try
- closing those 3 windows
- shut down laptop
- restart
Do the windows come back ?

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

Actually, another window came on. And it is System Setting window. I think I shut it down while this was on Desktop.

I think I am using X since I downloaded Xorg when I installed it.

In KDE check System Settings -> Startup and Shutdown -> Desktop Session. See if Start with an empty session is ticked. If not, try that.
