Hi,
I have libreoffice-fresh (7.1.1.2) installed on my laptop. I've bought the laptop 2 weeks ago from tuxedo and is basically a CLEVO NS50MU with:
Intel Iris Xe Graphics & Intel Core i7-1165G7 (8) @ 4.7GHz
32GB Ram
1TB nvme ssd
250GB nvme ssd
With that hardware libreoffice impress should work just fine. The root and home partition is encrypted with luks. On Ubuntu libreoffice works just fine, so I assume I need some package or some configuration to get to work properly.
With the environnment variable SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=kf5 the animations look just fine but with gtk2 or gen it is horribly slow and sluggish.
I have installed jre-openjdk because opening libreoffice impress in the terminal said that it couldn't find java, but even java being installed did remove the error but not the problem.
I have installed picom-jonaburg-git as the compositor but installing normal picom or killing picom does not fix the slow animations. The only workaround till now is to set SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN to kf5. I've also tried to install gnome-desktop and mate-desktop, because I thought that it could be because of my wm bspwm.
Neofetch also does take 2-5 seconds to render in the terminal, so I have the suspicion that the intel cpu or the intel graphics chip might be the cause, but then why does it work on ubuntu out of the box and not on my arch setup?
If someone can help me, I would really appreciate it, because I do earn money with presentations and I really love arch! ![]()
