i cant play youtube videos nor watching livestreams due to an issue in my audio drivers.

i have tried updating and reinstalling pipewire and pipewire-pulse, but to no avail.

i have tried restarting the service using sysemctl, it does nothing.

pactl works fine

Re: pipewire does not work

Are you playing to the correct device? What's your

aplay -l
pactl list cards
pactl list sinks
pactl list sink-inputs

during this?

none of them show anything

pactl info shows this

 Server String: /run/user/1000/pulse/native
Library Protocol Version: 34
Server Protocol Version: 34
Is Local: yes
Client Index: 34
Tile Size: 65472
User Name: relected
Host Name: archowo
Server Name: PulseAudio (on PipeWire 0.3.24)
Server Version: 14.0.0
Default Sample Specification: float32le 2ch 48000Hz
Default Channel Map: front-left,front-right
Default Sink: @DEFAULT_SINK@
Default Source: @DEFAULT_SOURCE@
Cookie: ab8b:bdb1

guess pactl doesnt actually work

Re: pipewire does not work

None? not even aplay -l? Then you don't have a sound card, what's your

sudo dmesg | grep -E 'snd|sof'

assuming you'll see errors about sof you'll need to install the sof-firmware package.

Edit: Please edit and append if you were the last one to post if you want to add something new to a post. By doing that you are doing quite a few breaking things, you either should switch to pulseaudio properly and remove the pipewire-pulse pipeline or find out why pipewire fails to allocate devices. You've claimed to not have .pacnew files but what's your

systemctl --user status pipewire pipewire-media-session pipewire-pulse
ls -l /etc/pipewire /etc/pipewire/media-session.d
