[Firefox] Why it's using /run/user/1000/firefox-profile dir ? (solved)

Hi,

On my desktop, my Firefox is using /run/user/1000/firefox-profile to store my main profile. But not my laptop.
I read this explanation about this directory : https://unix.stackexchange.com/question … -user-1000

Because I sync regularly my /home/.mozilla/ directory between several computers (and not this /run/user/1000 directory), I want to disable this directory use within Firefox.

Do you have any idea to doing this ?
Maybe it's a pam_systemd setting (which is probably different between my desktop and my laptop) but I also don't know how to change it to make it the same.

No idea from where or why firefox picked that directory, but creating a "new (to firefox on desktop)" profile seems simplest solution .

about:profiles will show you where your available profiles are stored.

An alternative is to use the built-in profilemanager,  run

$ firefox --ProfileManager

.

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/pr … x-profiles has more details

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

Are you perhaps using "profile-sync-daemon" on your desktop and forgot about it?

It was this ! Very very intuitive @Ropid !
I have removed this package installed long time ago (fu*** rolling release distribution) and my synchronization working well now
Thanks a lot !
