I am 99% sure this is an nth thread on this matter, but my specific issues did not seem to be described anywhere.
I understand that HP disables S3 in BIOS, which is the primary source of these issues. As in HP Envy x360 no S states available, when I run
dmesg | grep -i acpi | grep supports
, I get
ACPI: (supports S0 S4 S5)
.
However, I am running 5.11.11, which is supposed to support S2 - and it does! Despite the dmesg output suggesting otherwise.
Problem is, it only works once. I close the lid of my laptop (or run `systemctl suspend`), it stops responding to pings (although curiously, the keyboard remains lit). I open it, I get a small graphical glitch, couple seconds wait before the Bluetooth, Wi-Fi etc. catch up, all seems fine, but if I do this for the second time, the laptop doesn't wake up anymore - black screen, pressing the keyboard does nothing (edit: pressing the keyboard makes it light up, but I can't get into tty or otherwise with the system, that is).
There is nothing in `journalctl -b -1` suggesting an error - or even a wake up for that matter:
dub 04 08:57:12 sendai wpa_supplicant[698]: nl80211: deinit ifname=p2p-dev-wlan0 disabled_11b_rates=0

dub 04 08:57:12 sendai kernel: PM: suspend entry (s2idle)
dub 04 08:57:12 sendai kernel: Filesystems sync: 0.010 seconds
As if the laptop just died the second time I try to suspend it. (I get boot messages about orphaned inodes after I force turn it off via the power button and reboot).
Any help appreciated!
