[Solved] Laptop Audio not working

Recently, I have installed Arch linux on my laptop. However, when I try to play sound from firefox, or any application, no sound is played. I have so far been unable to find anything to help me solve this, thus I am resorting to posting this thread.

# lspci -vnn | grep -A 1 -i audio
00:1f.3 Multimedia audio controller [0401]: Intel Corporation Comet Lake PCH cAVS [8086:06c8]
	Subsystem: Dell Device [1028:09e1]
--
	Kernel driver in use: sof-audio-pci
	Kernel modules: snd_hda_intel, snd_soc_skl, snd_sof_pci
--
01:00.1 Audio device [0403]: NVIDIA Corporation Device [10de:10fa] (rev a1)
	Subsystem: Dell Device [1028:09e1]

# lspci | grep -i audio
00:1f.3 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corporation Comet Lake PCH cAVS
01:00.1 Audio device: NVIDIA Corporation Device 10fa (rev a1)

Only one device shows up in alsamixer. In alsa the cards name is HDA NVidia, and there are 4 S/PDIF buttons that I can toggle, but nothing happens when toggled on. Furthermore, in the F6 menu this is the only sound card that is shown. If i am not mistaken there should be 2 options. If not, why would the sound card not be able to play sound?

I tried to use this post to help https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=186597 with no luck.

Interestingly, when I boot into an Ubuntu live USB I can hear sounds most of the time. Sometimes, the audio device section comes up as blank until a sound is played (which I assume is from pulseaudio not being started). The laptop I am installing on is the Dell G3 15, if that is of any use.

I am not sure what is causing this issue, or how to solve it and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: [Solved] Laptop Audio not working

Thank you for the reply. It worked!
After fiddling around with pulseaudio and pavucontrol I got it working.

I will mark this thread as solved.
