hplip not being able to install the required plugin

So, after days of debugging, I managed to acquire the plugin binary (.run) file and the (.run.asc) for the hplip 3.21.1 software. When it prompts to install the binary plugin (I tried setting up my Laser Jet P1102 via hp-setup) I chose the manual path location binary option and it just requires my password, and it fails. Just throws me "Plug-in installation failed". Just that one line and it goes back to square one. Any ideas? Used to work when I used Debian Sid.

EDIT: I also did install all the optional dependencies for hplip and I also did try the hplip-binary from AUR

Re: hplip not being able to install the required plugin

why do you need 3.21.1 and why are you not using makepkg/pacman?
