Asus Vivobook USB drive not working

Hello All.

My laptop is ASUS Vivobook 15. My USB drives are not getting recognized. I have had this problem before, here:

I fixed it last time by disabling USB autosuspend in /etc/tlp.conf

It worked pretty well for quite a while, now suddenly I see that no USB drive is getting recognized...(even android phones).

pointing to the same iommu address of 02:00:3 suggests power issues. I don't have the answer but could be hardware.
If the devices you're trying to connect can be powered externally perhaps it will work. Also check BIOS if there are switches to power USB.

But how is it a hardware issue? I have Windows in dual boot and USB drives run fine on that. Also everything was fine for so many month on Arch... some update must have broken something.

And there's nothing in BIOS. There were couple of things like disable USB interface etc, but those were alright(unlocked.) And I didn't touch BIOS for months, so I definitely didn't change any settings there.

Perhaps tlp with some acpi changes got on the way. Perhaps delete tlp it and all configurations?

So I removed TLP and bingo! USB drives are being recongnized.
Then I reinstalled TLP and again they stopped getting recognized.

So tlp is the culprit!

I edited the /etc/tlp.conf file again to stop USB autosuspend. Nothing works. TLP sucks.

But my laptop battery is not that great, I would have liked TLP to keep saving my power.

TLP works well with some laptops but not with others. It tends to work well with Thinkpads.
You can just see if your DM, if you're using one, has some power saving scheme.

I use GNOME. Their website just says basic tips like dimming the screen, turning off Wifi when not in use,etc..
No problem I'll just charge more often.

Anyways,
