error: 'configure.ac' is required

Hello, I was trying to install https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/glib/ and got a bunch of errors stating

You should run autoupdate.

for example

configure.in:251: warning: The macro `AC_TRY_RUN' is obsolete.
configure.in:251: You should run autoupdate.

after checking the comments of the package I didn't see anyone with the same issue so I assumed that it was my fault that the package didn't start.

However when I run

$ autoupdate
autoupdate: error: 'configure.ac' is required

does anyone know how to fix this? I googled it with no luck. I appreciate the guidance smile

Re: error: 'configure.ac' is required

Those are warnings, not errors.

Re: error: 'configure.ac' is required

glib will fail to build with the updated CFLAGS from pacman 5.2.2-3 but that is unrelated to the warnings from autotools:
