KiCAD Installation borked after update

So I just updated my PC, and KiCAD suddenly stopped  working (EEschema in particular).
Whenever I try to start it, it errors out with -

/usr/lib/libngspice.so.0: undefined symbol 'history_file'
Failed to load kiface library "/usr/bin/_eechema.kiface"

Now my PC did shut off due to a blackout, but the update was already completed.
I reupdated my system just in case - didn't work.
I even reinstalled every installed package - didn't work.
Readline and ngspice are both installed.
How do I fix this?
