ArchWiki starting page design proposal

Main Page

The starting page of ArchWiki would therefore open with following page:

<<ArchWiki>>

<<Browse>>
Beneath this large icon depicting books with Arch logo on them, there are many 'read ArchWiki' links in different languages. The large logo link leads to [ArchWiki (English)], and links below that lead to [ArchWiki (other language)]

<<ArchWiki>>
Next to Read ArchWiki icon, there is another, slightly smaller icon, depicting many pages scatered about, a pen, and a few more details. This link leads to the unified [ArchWiki Tools section].

Below the two icons is a search box with 'Find' button. Between the two items is a language selection drop-down (optional) to search only pages in a certain language (there should exist a mechanism to mark pages up for language-specific content).

Top of the page should contain the usual ArchLinux logo, the links to other Arch-related sites.

Left-side panel should contain only items that can be used without logging in, until one actually logs in. Below the items is a log-in box featuring username and password textfields, as well as log in and register buttons.

Read ArchWiki page

On read ArchWiki page, all major categories should be listed in a logical order (not alphabetically).

Those are (as proposed in this thread: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?t=26585):

<<About>>
<<Getting>>
<<System>>
<<User's Guide>>

Below every category, minor subcategories should be listed. For example, under <<System>>, there are links in smaller size text:

<<Software>>
<<Hardware>>
<<Security>>
<<Networking>>
<<Customizing>>

Further below the main categories:

<<FAQs>> <<HOWTOs>>  <<Tutorials>>  <<Arch>> <<Books>> <<Requests>>
