Problem with Firfox rendering of one site

Can anyone suggest why this site, news.google.com, renders so weirdly in Firefox 88.0.1?

Site looks normal in chromium on Arch, and normal in firefox on the same box when using Linux Mint.

I've got a legacy nvidia card (Geforce 210) and am using nouveau.

Can you upload your screenshot to a site that doesn't require a login?

Is it just since Firefox 88.1? What versions are in use on mint in comparison? Did you check behaviour on the LTS kernel, mesa versions, etc?

Looks the same on Chromium and Firefox to me.  I use Privacy Badger.  Javascript is enabled for that site in both browsers
