Hello,
I tried to configure my Brother printer with no luck.
Here's what the printer tab looks like: https://i.imgur.com/TO3sHBu.png as you can see, both fields are blank, but whatever combinations i tried, I have no luck in getting the detection working.
On the other hand, here's my neighbor's HP printer, and it showed up perfectly fine with everything set up: https://i.imgur.com/b6zCorw.png
Can anybody please guide me through the process?
I've tried installing the following packages:
```
pacman -S cups
systemctl start cups
systemctl enable cups
systemctl enable cups.socket
pacman -S system-config-printer
```
And the respective driver for my printer at https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/brother-mfc-l2740dw/
P.S. running
```
sudo systemctl enable org.cups.cupsd.service
sudo systemctl start org.cups.cupsd.service
```
Gives an "service not found" error, but (1) I couldn't find a solution for it (2) my neighbor's HP printer have working configurations

Sorry, this problem is resolved.
I printed a network configuration test page from my printer and walked through the process manually. Seems like automated tools isn't always the solution...
Thanks to all that tried to help!

sudo systemctl enable org.cups.cupsd.service
sudo systemctl start org.cups.cupsd.service
Those were renamed around nov 2020 and don't exist anymore for archlinux cups .
The screenshots are not from cups webinterface or CLI, guess they are from system-config-printer ?
Is the printer connected through network and if so can its ip-address be pinged ?
Glad you figured it out.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
(A works at time B) && (time C > time B ) ≠ (A works at time C)

Just to clarify, those screenshots are from the printer settings in the KDE interface via "Settings" >> "Printers" >> "Add printer" they are not from the webinterface
Yes, the printer can be pinged because it's on the same ethernet as my computer is using. I only had trouble figuring out how to find the address (but I never thought the manual configuration is much simpler than I thought)
How do I mark this question as solved?

Prepend [Solved] to the title .
(edit first post, there's a max length for titles so may have to shorten the exsiting title)
