I need a media player that works?

Hi,

I have so many problems with Banshee I am thinking of going back to good old mpd

What the best front end for mpd at the moment?

I'm pretty happy with Sonata too, Pygmy but better. Just need to put in a couple of small requests some time.

To Mr Green: if you want just simple mpd client try glurp or gmpc.
Sonata and Pygme are nice too, but I don't like Python. tongue

Re: I need a media player that works?

I don't use any graphic frontends, manage all music through hotkeys and mpc. I used glurp for adding playlists as it is not a simple task for me if you are using only mpc.

I like pympc. it's very similar to sonata, but simpler. sonata doesn't seem... finished.

Re: I need a media player that works?

I use
ncmpc
and
Sonata
as well...they're not perfect, but pretty darn good.

Re: I need a media player that works?

I play all my music through Amarok, which also has support for my ipod.

I recommend it, even though it looks kinda bloaty.

Yep, and banshee and muine require mono
I plan to move to mpd too, when I configure it properly, default config is useless.

Re: I need a media player that works?

I don't understand devs that make music players that require a bunch of big depends.
I was shocked when read that Gnome included Tomboy officially.
