Screensaver to prevent screen burn-in when launching a single app

Hey, so I have a java application that runs directly via a getty service when the machine turns on (profile.d script to startx -- -nocursor via .xinitrc). There is no WM/DE, just one application running on X. However, I need to have a screensaver that pops up (other than the black screen that occurs right now occasionally) to prevent screen burn-in as this is a kiosk. All I found on the arch wiki was this page on XScreenSaver, which is quite vague. I also ideally need to make a custom screensaver for this device rather than use a builtin, and I haven't really been able to find any guides for that.

You don't need a screensaver to prevent burning in, because
1. that hardly happens w/ somewhat modern LCDs anyway (OLED is a different thing) - there can be ghosting, but feeding the output some noise will undo that.
2. dkms (the black screen thing) turns off the output and that will not only save power but also your screen

If you still want to use a screensaver, please explain how the wiki on xscreensaver is "vague" - you install, configure and run it. That's all.
Also you need to explain what you mean by "custom screensaver" - screensaver hacks are binaries that provide a certain interface.

But if the goal is to show some images or text about your service: that already exists.

I was not aware that LCD burn-in is no longer an issue. In that case, I will simply opt to never turn the screen off. I don't want the touch screen going off because this is a touch-screen kiosk that will be set up in a public location and to most people walking by black-screen = machine broken. How do I go about disabling that feature? Thanks

Ghosting on IPS LCDs can be pretty bad though, so a screensaver still makes sense if your display uses IPS. Or maybe just dim the screen a little when not in use, it is mainly full brightness white pixels that cause IPS ghosting.

This sadly didn't work. The screen still enters power saving mode.

Thanks! Does this go in my /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-monitor.conf, and if so, should I keep the stuff from the wiki about disabling DPMS as well, or just put that?

You probably want to disable DMPS and SS and can actually test the behavior w/

xset -dpms; xset s off

BlankTime belongs into a "ServerFlags" section, the actual file/name doesn't matter as long as it matches /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/*.conf
