[Solved]Rosegarden no sound, and lack of low-latency kernel

How do I make sound in Rosegarden example?

Currently, I run Timidity++ daemon on GNOME40.

timidity -iA

And Cadence with jack2 server, but it report Kernel warning, but I cannot read the warning.

Rosegarden also generates a warning

Performance Problems Detected

System timer

Rosefarden was unable to find a high-resolution timing source for MIDI performance.

You may be able to solve this problem by loading the RTC timer kernel module. To do this, try running sudo modprobe snd-rtctimer in a terminal window and then restarting Rosegarden.

Alternatively, check whether your Linux distributor provides a multimedia-optimized kernel. See Rosegarden website for notes about this.

I couldn't make it.

For the instruction here, I had to tweak. It's not hd:0, but hd:1.

I believe the low latency kernel is linux-rt (AUR), but I didn't install in fear of breaking VirtualBox.

Anyways, Cadence did start successfully, but still no sound in Rosegarden.

I got it to work in Ubuntu Studio, though. - https://askubuntu.com/questions/620375/ … rosegarden

Re: [Solved]Rosegarden no sound, and lack of low-latency kernel

Now, uninstalled Timidity.

Cadence works by ALSA => PulseAudio => JACK (Plugin); and output is hw:0

QSynth also need to be run before Rosegarden, and Soundfonts set.

The key to make it work here, is LOTS OF REBOOTS.
