Kmplayer stops working

Hi!

After the last update it seems that Kmplayer broke or something with the codecs happened. I can't play any regular video file with it any more. It starts buffering the file, but then it says "not running". Does anybody know how to fix it?

Re: Kmplayer stops working

I'm using the mplayer engine.
I also found out that the mplayer-plugin stopped working within Firefox. After switching to another engine it worked fine, so I guess, mplayer causes this problem....

Re: Kmplayer stops working

Are you using the 1.0rc1-2 build of MPlayer? That one doesn't work for me. I've been using a version that I built from SVN.

Re: Kmplayer stops working

Hi,

I have noticed the same thing with noatun.  It complains about 'unix_connect: can't connect to server'.

With mplayer it is a shared library issue:
mplayer: error while loading shared libraries: libslang.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Too lazy to recompile yet, I use Pajaro's solution.

Edit:  It looks like mplayer just had a missing dep for slang.  Adding that and it works.
