I'm sorry if the topic is in the wrong forum but I couldn't find any more suitable place for it.
On lemmy.ml I saw a topic that archlinux IRC channels are moving to libera.chat network. Until I saw that topic I didn't even know arch linux had IRC channels, but nvm. I haven't used IRC in about 22 years, so I have forgotten almost everything about it. Following the configuration menus of hexchat I've added the LiberaChat server and address (irc.libera.chat:6697) but it connects for a few seconds only and then the remote server disconnects me, then repeats (connects - disconnects) in a loop.
What am I doing wrong?
P.S. I took the server address from https://libera.chat/ :
"Connect by pointing your IRC client to irc.libera.chat:6697 (TLS)".

You need to edit server list to add Libera network and then edit server to irc.libera.chat/6697 and enable SSL
From what you wrote I assume you had no SSL enabled.
