Steam missing text and strange looking text.

I used Manjaro for a few months but today finally made the switch to Arch.  I got it all set up and installed Steam.  I went to log into the Steam client and I see this https://i.imgur.com/QI33KDU.png.
I managed to sign in because I'm familiar with the UI and when I did I saw this https://i.imgur.com/dmthuUo.png

I tried to solve this issue by installing fonts to ~/.fonts and I'm still having this issue.  I also removed steam and reinstalled it with no luck.  Any help would be awesome
