Touchpad not working at login screen

Hello,
sometimes I have this issue with the touchpad at the login screen, I can't use it and the only way I have to move the cursor is using the mouse.
If i reboot the system, the issue disappear and then the touchpad works fine.
I tried to re-install libinput but the problem still exist.
It's very frustrating because it happens randomly.
I will appreciate if someone will help me.

Pietro

I had the same issue, which went away after following the Wiki's article about laptops, this section: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Laptop#Elantech

Re: Touchpad not working at login screen

What DE are you using ?
When the problem arises post the output of :
If you are using gnome

 sudo journalctl -u gdm -b

If you are using kde plasma

sudo journalctl -u sddm -b

I'm using XFCE with gdm instead of lightdm
