Trying out window managers

I am currently using an arch install with Gnome 40 as my desktop.I would like to experiment with window managers.  Is it possible to install a window manager like awesome and chose the DE or WM at login?

indicates that you can.

FWIW, you can also switch (at least some) window managers without logging out/back-in, with e.g.
openbox --replace
awesome --replace
but perhaps that doesn't read a complete setup...?  Antix linux comes with 3 window managers and you can switch on-the-fly thru the menu.
