Recently my workstation died and I wanted to use the system on another PC. But I was unable to boot from the SSD on 2 different PCs. They didn't detect anything bootable on the SSD, even GRUB's minimal bash didn't show up.
I have the following partition-scheme:
sda
├─sda1 (FAT32, EFI partition)
├─sda2 (ext4, boot partition)
└─sda3 (LUKS partition)Then I did the following in an attempt to reinstall GRUB.
$ cryptsetup luksOpen /dev/sda3 dec

$ mount /dev/sda2 /mnt/boot

I tried using cryptomount in GRUB's bash but it doesn't prompt for the password.

$ cryptomount hd0,3I also noticed the EFI partition containing another folder called EFI which I found a little bit weird. Is that normal? /boot/EFI/EFI/grub/

I'm facing the exact same issue at the moment. Also tried reinstalling grub on a LVM/LUKS setup. And the new grub also only gives me the option to boot into the UEFI settings screen. I also have the curious folder structure on the EFI partition: /boot/EFI/EFI/grub. Did you find a solution? Or anyone has any other suggestions?

I figured out my problem. I had re-formatted the /boot partition, and I had to re-install the linux kernel so it would have a kernel to boot... So a simple `pacman -S linux linux-headers` before `grub-install` and `grub-mkconfig` fixed the issue for me.
