That's why they are in Testing. smile I'm sure this can be fixed before they enter Extra.

Re: nvidia-1.0.9629

I can't reproduce the glxinfo segfault, works fine here. Does glx work well in general? Does nvidia-setting show the glx information?

You did install nvidia-utils from testing, too? (just to make sure)

Re: nvidia-1.0.9629

The new nvidia logo splash screen its very cool. So far, the new driver hasnt fixed the blank screen I have when switching Vterms, also, I have a weird strange minimal "bug" when I mouse over the minimize/maximize/close buttons of the windows on Compiz.

Re: nvidia-1.0.9629

Just for curiosity, what "initial" means in:

* Added initial support for GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap.

thanks!

Re: nvidia-1.0.9629

It means that GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap is still buggy. You get black windows if you run out of video memory, and some other bugs. It always works for me though.
That will only affect you if you use a compositing manager that uses tfp.

glxinfo segfault: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=79703
IMO this is not critical as long as the rest works (does it?).

6800 slowness: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=79740
This IS critical, how many users are affected by this?

http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/5786
This is also critical, can anyone else confirm this bug?

FYI: I don't plan to add nvidia beta 9742 to the unstable repository. The only reason I added beta drivers is that I expected high popularity because of the tfp feature. The new beta release doesn't have such important changes and thus won't be that popular, so I figured it is not worth the effort supporting it right now. The few people who want to use it can modify the existing PKGBUILDs by only changing the version number.

I have the exact same video card that he has and I'm not having any issues that he said. The nvidia drivers are working perfect for me.

I've been playing World of Warcraft all day with these drivers and haven't encountered a single issue. I also have a 6800 GT.

The bug that I am talking about is not with 6800GT but with 5200FX.
