firefox 2 fonts ugly

I just tried firefox 2 from testing and I noticed that my fonts look terrible in it.
In 1.5 i had settings:
proportional:serif
serif:times new roman
sans-serif:verdana
monospace:bitstream-vera-sans mono

and fonts look beautiful, but keeping these settings in firefox 2 makes most websites unpleasant to read.
does anybody else have this problem.

Re: firefox 2 fonts ugly

Have you seen this thread?

On the other hand, Firefox 2 use dpi = 96 on most systems by default. Take a look at this page for explanation.
You can try changing the value of layout.css.dpi to 0 using about:config page in Firefox.
