[solved] intel iris xe blank screen frequently on 4k resolution

I have problem when using 4k resolution on my nuc11i5 (intel iris xe). Its frequently blank screen for about a second or more when there is graphic related thing like maximize windows, playing youtube, etc. When i use resolution below 4k the problem disappear. What is going on? i already max out the memory for the igp in the bios setting but still no avail.
FYI, my rig is nuc11i5 using 1 slot memory 8gb (out of 2 slot) plus ssd sata, using xfce for desktop environment

Tested modelines fit, try them.
Is it "displayport" displayport or "adapter to hdmi" displayport?

tried the modeline, the blank screen still showing. The port is HDMI but yeah why the the xrandr result displayport, maybe the later adapter to hdmi displayport. the blank is appear when doing thing with gpu related thing, so when idling, or doing light stuff like typing its totally fine.

xrandr --output DP-3 --rate 30

If it still happens try

xrandr --output DP-3 --rate 24

If not, try the 30Hz w/ reduced blanking.

For reference, 2560x1440@60Hz runs at a pclk of 312.25 MHz, 3840x2160@30Hz at 338.75 MHz and 3840x2160@60Hz w/ reduced blanking still at a whopping 522.61 MHz (compared to 712.75 MHz w/o reduced blanking)
For HDMI, this is usually the cables fault and the workaround (next to getting a better cable) is to lower the signal as much as possible.

Since you get some™ signal at 712.75, make extra sure that you actually used the modeline w/ reduced blanking (xrandr -q)

thanks, i forgot to change the settings after adding modeline. 30hz works great.

You'll be happier w/ 60Hz w/ reduced blanking (if it works) - or a "Premium High Speed" or "Ultra High Speed" cable (and once more I've the opportunity to point out that yes: those bullshit marketing terms are the actual, official, only reliable "version" tags for HDMI cables…)
