os-prober detect my Windows XP but when i launch "grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg" grub doesn't detect it. Why?

Read the output of grub-mkconfig, it should inform you about the fact that it doesn't use os-prober by default and that needs to be explicitly enabled in current GRUB versions.

Ok, who's the rocket scientist that decide not to have os-prober installed and added to grub?
It's been in grub.cfg since like forever, now you have to install it. way to go dev's.
