[solved] Synctex does not work with Gedit and Evince

Both forward and backward search do not work for some time with Gedit and Evince. Nothing happens when I do Ctrl+Left click on Gedit or Evince, or when I use "Forward search" from the menu in Gedit.

Here are the versions that I use (my system is up to date) :
evince 40.2-1
gedit 40.1-1
gedit-plugins 40.1-1
libsynctex 2021.58686-3

Launching Gedit with the terminal, I get the following error:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/lib/gedit/plugins/synctex/synctex.py", line 106, in on_saved_or_loaded
    self.update_location()
  File "/usr/lib/gedit/plugins/synctex/synctex.py", line 162, in update_location
    self.update_active()
  File "/usr/lib/gedit/plugins/synctex/synctex.py", line 204, in update_active
    self._doc.connect('cursor-moved', self.on_cursor_moved),
TypeError: <Gedit.Document object at 0x7fcb0755ee40 (GeditDocument at 0x563b0425a270)>: unknown signal name: cursor-moved

I reported this as an issue on Gitlab:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gedit-pl … /issues/45

Any idea? Am I the only one facing this issue?

Re: [solved] Synctex does not work with Gedit and Evince

gedit had been ported to tepl and cursor-moved was removed. This has been reverted again, so you should probably wait for a new release or try gedit-git.

Thanks!

Installing gedit-git solves the problem.
