dotfiles root folder etc files symbolic links

Hi !

I want to use /dotfiles folder in root and put there files like hosts nftables fstab ...

and make a sym link /dotffiles/fstab -> /etc/fstab etc..

as root user

is this ok ? -> disadvantage ?

ask for your opinion

Do you want to keep the original file in its place and create a symlink in /dotfiles pointing to it? Harmless but the name dotfiles is badly chosen and like twelveeighty I fail to see the point of the exercise.

Or move the original file into /dotfiles and replace the original with a symlink? I would advise against that unless you want to break your system.
