[SOLVED] LXDE login screen - password box does not accept @

Hello all,
I'm quite new to archlinux. I successfully installed the desktop environment LXDE and got the login page.
My password includes the character @, but when I type it, looks like it is not accepted...I mean, the number of dots doesn't change.
Can anybody point me in some direction?

I had no configuration file, that was the problem. After giving the command localectl...the problem is gone.
