USB-C Dock Gen 2 40AS + T14 AMD + 4k Monitor not working on Linux

Hi

I have 1x 1680x1050, 1x 1920x1080 and 1x 3840x2160 monitor connected to this Dock. This type of dock is basically just a DisplayPort 1.4 MST Hub with a bunch of USB peripherals next to it. On Windows all 3 Monitors run in those resolutions @60. On Linux I can't get this Setup to work. Most of the time just the 1680x1050 and 1920x1080 monitor work. The 3840x2160 monitor stays black.

Sometimes I can get the 1680x1050 and 3840x2160@30 to work. But in that case, the 1920x1080 stays black. I can switch the configuration with gnome settings. But it reverts if I try to activate 3 monitors.

Another monitor configuration with 2x 1920x1080 + 1x 1680x1050 monitor works fine on Linux. But as soon as I introduce the 4k screen it acts weird.

I already looked into the thread here https://bbs.archlinux.org/post.php?tid=259408 and tried to run the xrandr commands from drizz1e to run the 4k screen @50, unfortunately without any luck. I think his issue is different as it looks more like an edid issue and my issue is a bandwidth issue between computer and dock or something like that.

Re: USB-C Dock Gen 2 40AS + T14 AMD + 4k Monitor not working on Linux

This works now on Kernel 5.14.0-rc1-1-mainline. Will switch to Archlinux Kernel again when it is 5.14 and test it there then.
