I have recently switched from kde-plasma to i3 window manager. But in KDE there was a wallet system which used to protect my google saved passwords. But now nothing like this exists. My wifi passwords (e.g. local passwords) and google saved passwords are visible and not asking me to authenticate myself in order to view the passwords.
I am pretty scared right now. I even tried to install kde wallet manager, for which I have installed
kwallet kwalletmanager kdesu systemsettingsBut while applying the settings in kde wallet, the kde wallet control module says permission denied.
What should I do? I would definitely not want to use kde wallet manager if there is a better alternative to it in i3 window manager.
Please help me.

If you're starting i3 w/ xinit/startx, see the last link below…
Nb. that these things are all convenient and secure while they're closed/encrypted
Once you unlocked the PW manager, it's open for everyone to read, ie. the actual security doesn't go much beyond an encrypted $HOME (partition)
