Hybrid x86_64 and i386 on a live USB with encrypted boot

Hi,

(I am a newbie. Sorry if the questions are too basic.)

I am looking for some directions in install Arch as Hybrid x86_64 and i386 on a live USB with encrypted boot and encrypted persistence as in https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Dm-cry … ion_(GRUB)

I tried to run it from another Linux distribution. There were issues installing packages, as it could not find the target folder. (Yes, I did prepare the drive as in https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Dm-cry … _volumes_3 ) If I changed the chroot, neither pacman or pacstrap would respond (Command not found).

I tried to run it from a USB with the Arch iso. It worked fine, until I reached the part about GRUB. I have some difficulties understanding clearly how to run GRUB.

I tried to run GRUB for x86_64 with logical volumes prepared as in https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Dm-cry … _volumes_3. The wiki is unclear about whether you should run it from the chroot from the USB with the iso and/or after arch-chroot /mnt I tried to run both, every time I had issues with the target partition, it said that it did not recognize the partition as an EFI table (even though it was).

I did not fully understand the part about setting GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="... cryptdevice=UUID=device-UUID:cryptlvm ..." How does it work? Is there a more detailed page about it?

I checked the efivars folder as in https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Instal … _boot_mode It returned an error. I am not sure what to do from here. (When starting the USB, it shows "GRUB LoadingError".)

Is there a specific page for this installation setup?
