OBS-Studio not using pipewire on wayland session

My OBS-Studio seems to be unable to use pipewire as screen capture in my device and instead uses XSHM and Xcomposite. the only way for me to access pipewire is with

QT_QPA_PLATFORM=wayland obs

this was the first line of the output from OBS itself, as you can see, it already uses wayland. this output is shown regardless if I just type obs or command above. but without QT_QPA_PLATFORM=wayland OBS always uses X11.

Warning: Ignoring XDG_SESSION_TYPE=wayland on Gnome. Use QT_QPA_PLATFORM=wayland to run on Wayland anyway.

one notable difference is that with just obs there is no info: Platform: Wayland output and only the session type info: Session Type: wayland is shown. is there a way to fix this? I've searched the internet for a while without any success.
